The Byrd Farm
We are a small family owned Certified Organic Farm located in the heart of the Piedmont Region of Virginia. We use sustainable, earth friendly growing methods and never use synthetic fertilizers or herbicides. Our animals are humanely treated and live in open pastures and are never given antibiotics, growth hormones or genetically modified grain. The Byrd Farm, nestled in the western portion of Goochland County, has been in the Stoneman family since the 1800's. Focused on using organic standards and sustainable practices, our family grows a delicious variety of seasonal produce year round. In addition to our USDA certified organic vegetables, strawberries, blackberries, herbs and flowers, we offer eggs produced from pastured chickens that are fed a diet of non-GMO grains, grass, and extra produce from the organic gardens. Each year we raise a limited number of delicious, pasture raised chickens for members of our CSA (and a few extra for our local farmers markets.) Fruit preserves, made by the farmer's wife, are sourced from locally grown peaches and berries. Look for a fall harvest of organic baby ginger and turmeric at the market!
